TOYS Shooting Game Historica 3 SP - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The third series of Shooting Game Historica 3 gashapon toys was released on Wednesday in Japan and NCS received our entire shipment today. The complete roster of ships in the set is as follows:

» Wolf Fang - Blue armored mech which carries a blaster rifle
» Raiden - Raiden mk-II (red) or Raiden mk-IIb (blue)
» Soukyugurentai - S.O.Q-004 Toryu with multiple movable parts
» Kaitei Daisensou: In the Hunt - Squat submarine designed by Irem
» Maneuver Cepter Granada - A blue tank with moxie
» Star Soldier - The Ceaser which features a transformable cockpit

The blue Raiden mk-IIb was missing in the Shooting Game Historica 3 gashapon version from last month but it is included in the SP set. The mk-IIb is painted with a pretty pastel blue color and each of the other five ships also has a color or model variant. The default color for the Soukyugurentai S.O.Q-004 ship is red and its variant color is pastel-blue with shades of gray. The orange submarine from In the Hunt is also available in a light-blue model and the variant Ceaser features red trim instead of blue trim in the default model. The quality of the ships is admirable for the price point that they're offered at and we're pleased with Yujin's level of craftsmanship. Due to time constraints this morning
(translation: Monster Hunter 3 arrived), a photo gallery of the original and variant ships will be posted on Monday morning. All preorders for the Shooting Historica 3 SP sets will ship today and new orders are welcome at US$68.90 per factory sealed box of 12 toys.

Wii Monster Hunter 3-Tri - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Wander into the wilderness once more and hunt down monsters great and small. Your job as a Hunter isn't to record their feeding or breeding habits in a little journal. No, your job is to slay them all. By using weapons that are well-suited for all out war, the Hunter slashes, stabs, slices, and dices his way through legions of hapless creatures. Victims include docile monsters who are easy-going plant eaters that wouldn't hurt a fly as well as rampaging creatures who are hunters in their own right.

At the outset of the game, players create a custom Monster Hunter by adjusting a number of variables such as clothing color, hair style, and eye color. Every Hunter starts the game with a run of the mill sword and shield but players may out him/her with better weapons during the course of the game. Along with everyday monster butchering, Hunters also get to tackle missions which invariably involve monster hunting. Different weapons featured in the game include swords, gun-bows, axes, hammers, and more. In addition to killing all manner of monsters on land, players will also get to dive underwater and slay monsters in the murky depths where serpentine creatures dwell. The Wii Nunchuk and Remote controls are well suited for monster hunting where all of the functions including camera adjustment are within reach of the player's fingers on both hands.

PSP Evangelion Battle Orchestra - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The Evangelion and Angels go to war once more in a pseudo 3D fighting game where the combatants punch, kick, and jump their way through the ranks. We term Evangelion Battle Orchestra a "pseudo 3D" fighting game because the action takes place on a 2D plane ala Naruto Narutimett Hero but the world is rendered in 3D which twists and turns with the action on screen. There's also a collection of cut-scenes that are shown during a fight when a special attack or weapon is triggered. The animation serves to break up the flow of the battle and perhaps energize the gamer with a feeling of power and authority.

The Evangelion are not tethered to any power source and they're free to ramble around the battlefield like free men. An EVA mech can attack with conventional blows, bladed weaponry, and firearms for distance attacks. Wooden crates that appear on stage may be cracked open to reveal power-ups and weapons for use in the battle. The "Rumble Mode" of the game features four-player fighting which gets a little cramped when all four combatants are in each other's faces and punching like felons. The D-pad or L-Analog can be used for movement; the controls are somewhat floaty but acceptable for an Evangelion game from Broccoli.

The PSP version of NGE: BO features 24 characters to use in the game, a multi-player ad hoc mode, and a Mission Mode which contains 100 stages. The first production of the game will ship with two bonus postcards and two shiny circular stickers which bear the image of an Evangelion in motion.

PSP To Heart 2 Portable - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Lucy Maria Misora, Tamaki Kousaka, and the other To Heart 2 girls return in another conversion of the popular romance adventure from 2004. The PSP game features a new heroine who joins the regular cast and new scenarios which bolster the original storylines.

The game begins in the home of protagonist
Takaki Kōno who's been left home alone by his parents. They're away on a work-related stint and they've entrusted him with the protection of their quaint abode which features spartan decor. After the background story is established at the outset, a girl named Konomi Yuzuhara joins Takaki in the living room and holds what should be termed a soliloquy. She does a lot of talking with nary a reply from Takaki. Although the girls in the game speak with the voice of an actress, Takaki is silent to preserve the illusion that the player is in his shoes. After Konomi's speech, the two go into the kitchen where she helps herself to a bowl of cereal. We're pretty sure she's enjoying the Japanese equivalent of Corn Pops. Konomi can take liberties such as free cereal at the Kōno household and barging into Takaki's house uninvited because she's known him since they were children and they're copacetic. Over the years, Konomi has become fond of Takaki but their relationship is about to take a more serious turn when she she graduates from junior high and joins him in high school. Along with Konomi as a potential love interest, a cast of girls are also fair game for relationships including an alien from outer space named Lucy Maria Misora who Takaki finds lying on the ground one day.

PSP To Heart 2 Portable W-Pack - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The "W-Pack" edition of To Heart 2 Portable ships in a standard UMD case which holds two discs. The first UMD contains the To Heart 2 game while the second UMD holds the original To Heart game.

The PSP conversion of To Heart is based on the original Playstation game which features voice acting and censorship. The game begins in the protagonist
Hiroyuki Fujita's bedroom. An alarm is beeping and doing its job to rouse him from his slumber. School awaits and he must be on his way lest society look down upon him. Upon getting up, the room is still dark and the windows are covered by striped curtains. Brushing the curtains aside fills the room with light and the chirping of birds. The doorbell rings multiple times and a girl named Akari Kamigishi arrives to bid Hiroyuki good morning and to walk to school with him. Akari is one of the love interests in the game and she competes with a number of other girls for Hiroyuki's affection. Similar to many other love games, To Heart is a digital novel where user interaction is kept to a minimum and the storyline is fed to the player by way of dialogue and cut scenes.

In To Heart 2, the protagonist is a lad named
Takaki Kōno who has two childhood friends named Konomi Yuzuhara and Tamaki Kōsaka who are potential love interests. That's in addition to a cast of classmates such as Karin Sasamori, Yuma Tonami, and an alien with pink hair named Lucy Maria Misora who all provide dramatic foil.

PSP Final Fantasy Tactics Ultimate Hits - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Return to the world of Ivalice and join a lad named Ramza Beoulve and his friend Delita Herial who find themselves embroiled in The Lion War. Princess Ovelia, the adopted daughter of King Omdolia, has been kidnapped and two mighty houses marshal for war. On one side is the Gallione Family ruled by Prince Larg who's family crest is a White Lion. Opposing them is the Zeltennia Family stewarded by Prince Goltana who's family crest is a Black Lion. Two lions clash and Ivalice suffers from their enmity.

Players take on the role of Ramza Beoulve who teams up with Delita Herial and cohorts in an adventure to beat back enemy hordes. The first chapter is titled, "The Meager" and the game starts in Magic City Gariland where Ramza's party is charged with defeating a group of brigands. In general, the goal of each mission is defeating all of the enemy units on the map but different objectives pop up from time to time to spice up the tactical action.

Final Fantasy Tactics Shishi Sensou is based on the original Playstation game from 1997. The visual presentation of the game is a near 1:1 copy of the original but Square adds a cel-shaded introduction cinema and numerous animation sequences which play after each chapter. The PSP update of Final Fantasy Tactics also features two new playable characters: Balflear from FFXII and Luso from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2.

PS2 Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job - New Import

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» When FFXII was released in Japan on March 16, 2006, we knew it would do well based on built-in expectations alone. The name Final Fantasy tends to guarantee big sales numbers to an ever-hungry audience. Fast forward to October 31, 2006 and stateside players also snapped the game up at a healthy clip. Last but certainly not least, European players were sated with their FFXII fix on February 23, 2007. After the world was fed the latest installment of FFXII, Square Enix went back to the well and decided that history would repeat itself. An "International" edition of FFXII would be released in Japan at full price with some slight improvements added to the mix. Square had performed the same routine with FFX, FFX-2, and the two Kingdom Hearts games.

The International version of Final Fantasy XII features a dozen license board variants which govern the professions that a character may be bequeathed. The voices in the game are from the USA version of FFXII but note that the text and dialogue is entirely in Japanese. For gamers who enjoy a theater-like experience, the action may be viewed in sweet 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.

NDS Doki Majo Plus - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Hunting for witches ain't easy but someone's got to do it. To that end, the setting of the latest Doki Doki Majo Shinpan game takes players to a tropical island where bikini-clad maidens must be touched, searched, and prodded like cattle. The protagonist is looking for a secret witch's mark which is basically what witches are branded with by the Devil.

By using the touch pen or just an index finger, players act the part of an anatomy investigator who searches the bodies of suspects who really don't want to be touched. When a girl is being checked out in an overly thorough fashion, she'll react by blushing or appear ashamed, which is a natural when being violated. A new character in the game named Kanan Kiara looks sorta like Ororo (Storm) from the X-Men comics when Dave Cockrum and then John Byrne did the penciling.

NDS Hello Kitty no PacPac & Logic - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Hello Kitty is recruited by Sanrio and Dorasu into a pair of puzzle games which feature familiar play mechanics:

(1) Hello Kitty no Pac Pac - Disembodied pairs of Kitty heads fall from the top of the screen and your task is to stack at least four like-colored Kitties atop each other to clear them from the screen. Chain combos are possible by positioning the Kitty heads in chain-conducive arrangements.

(2) Hello Kitty Oekaki Logic - Use cues on the perimeter of the 10x10 play board to fill in spaces to create simple and blocky illustrations that are reminiscent of the big-pixel 80s.

King of Fighters XII USB Joystick - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Japanese manufacturer Exar releases a PS3 USB joystick that's decorated with KOF XII character artwork. If you're a Wii Tatsunoko vs Capcom player, the design of the joystick may look similar because it's the same exact form-factor as Exar's Tatsunoko stick. A 35mm lollipop-style joystick is located on the left whilst six buttons reside on the right. The characters shown on the top of the panel are: Terry Bogard, Athena, Ryo Sakazaki, Ash Crimson, Iori Yagami, and Kyo Kusanagi.
The joystick contacts against clicky micro-switches which sound off with every tug and the buttons have a good springy feel to them.

Neo Geo Stick 2 USB - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» We have a soft spot in our hearts for the original Neo Geo AES controller. Sure, it's not the best nor the snappiest joystick we've ever manhandled but there's a certain design aesthetic to the controller that still appeals to our Neo Geo lovin' souls. Exar probably knows our kind so they're showing love to SNK's Neo Geo joystick once more with a new production that ships this week for the Playstation 3.
The four main buttons (Square, X, Triangle, O) are arranged in a diagonal row on the left side of the controller and the Dual Shock 3's trigger buttons are mapped to the little sliver-buttons located to the east and south of the main buttons.

Armored Core 3 Portable - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» A catastrophic conflagration on the Martian surface forces the denizens of the planet below the crust once again. Relegated to a dismal existence in a social system known as "Layered," the survivors live under the auspices of a computer program called "The Controller" which directs the comings and goings in the subterranean city. Aspiring peons and drudges born into the world of Layered are able to pull themselves up by their bootstraps by joining the ranks of the Ravens. Mercenaries by trade, Ravens bear the emblem of whoever's willing to pay top dollar for their services. Most eager to pay are vast and, by default, sinister corporations which jockey for control of the Martian subsurface - Crest, Kisaragi, and Mirage.

Armored Core places players in control of a mechanical marauder that's fast and destructive.
Outfit your bot with a dizzying array of parts including new arms, heads, and legs from a total of 14 categories. Once the Raven is ready for action, launch it into escort and/or firefight missions along with the occasional foray where your Raven provides defense or a diversion. New wrinkles to the tried and true Armored Core gameplay include armored consorts, air support, and "Exceed Orbits." At the outset of the game, players have to tackle a trial mission to ensure that their mech handling skills are adequate to join the ranks of the Ravens. The PSP version of Armored Core 3 features an ad hoc communication mode where players may link up with friends for a Raven battle royale and true 16:9 widescreen for an expansive view of the action.

Wii Black Japanese System - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The Wii has dominated the latest generation of gaming consoles for a couple of years now and millions of players own a basic white Wii in their living rooms. NCS has three of them which are used in heavy rotation throughout the year. In this day and age of multiple choices and variants, it's a little hard to believe that the Wii has only been available in white. That is, until now. Nintendo announced the Black Wii last month and Japanese distributors released the units on Monday of this week.
The Black Wii features a glossy patina that'll look doubly cool when the lights are low. Not so low that you can't see anything but "dusky" so that some details and gloss can still be discerned.

Remote Controller [Black] - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Nintendo colors the Wii juggernaut black this week with the Japanese launch of the Wii console and three accessories which are all painted with a glossy black patina. The Remote Controller [Black] offers the same functions as the standard Remote Controller [White] and it's regulation hardware. There's nothing different inside but the shell that encases the circuitry is black. Mysterious. Alluring. Sort of.

We synced the remotes to one of our Wii consoles this morning and noticed the blue LEDs have a nice contrast against the black shell. Dirt is also less noticeable on the black Remote but one drawback is that fingerprints and finger grease are more noticeable on the black controller than on a white controller. Nintendo includes a silicon holder with every controller to improve the grip. Preorders will begin shipping today.

Nunchuk Controller [Black] - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» Back in high school, there was a girl in Spanish class named Cassandra who the other kids looked upon as a little strange. She wore black clothes, black leggings, and black lipstick. As if to accentuate her favorite color, she also applied generous portions of eye shadow which made her appear as if possessed by the spirit of the Great Raccoon. Contact with Cass was lost after high school but we'd like to think she's visiting these pages and eyeing the new black Wii console and black accessories with desire in her heart. Repeat: Desire in her heart.

Nintendo's new Nunchuk in black is the same internally as the original Nunchuk but it's blessed with a shiny black shell. NCS recommends pairing a black Nunchuk with a black Remote for sweet color matching but if you want to be wild, connect the black 'chuk to a white Remote to bewilder your little sister and confuse the local yokels.

Classic Controller Pro [Black] - New Import, In Stock

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The original Classic Controller from Nintendo was missing something. We didn't know what it was missing until we saw the Classic Controller Pro which bolts stubby legs and another pair of shoulder buttons on the original Classic Controller. From a design standpoint, Nintendo basically gave their original pad a Dual Shock 2 makeover and the form factor is similar to Sony's controller.

NCS tested the CCP with a few games today and found it to be comfortable to grip. Those stubby legs do wonders for holding the controller steady when playing exciting games such as Phelios, Axelay, Gradius II, Block Breaker Deluxe, Okiraku Ping Pong (Japanese Virtual Console), and many more. The games aren't really exciting but that's a key word used in sales to goad buyers into action.

Wii Kyoufu Taikan Juon - New Import, Restock SOON

From the Publisher
It is said that when a person dies with a deep and burning grudge, a curse is born. When an average housewife in Nerima, Japan, was murdered in a grisly fashion, it gave rise to a curse so powerful that it threatens to kill at a pace thought unimaginable before.
The curse manifests on those who encounter the curse by any means, such as entering the house or being in contact with somebody who was already cursed. Once Erika Yamada is exposed to the curse while searching for her dog in an abandoned warehouse, the entire Yamada family is put in grave danger as soon as she reunites with them at home. They must now face their individual challenges alone, and only by overcoming the curse together will their family truly be free again.
Using the Wii Remote as a flashlight, JU-ON: The Grudge has players move forward with the touch of a button and explore haunted areas such as an abandoned warehouse, a dimly-lit hospital, and a mannequin factory. Much like a haunted house, the player must proceed forward even after being frightened and running away from the initial threat. As much fun as it is to get scared, sometimes it’s even more fun to watch others play to observe their reactions.

Japanese producer COSPA has announced reservations for a 1/6 scale Princess Galett Fey figure which measures 21cm or 8.26" tall. A sword accessory is included along with a base. Sentou Kyokan Allean Real Red Ver. - Import Preorder

NCS Preorder Synopsis
«©NCSX» Allean is a golden-haired lassie who hails from the Queens Blade books and she's apparently a combat instructor of some stripe. We could make a lewd joke about Allean handling weapons but NCS is above that. This preorder synopsis will be by the book.
Allean's upcoming figure from Griffon is set to 1/7 scale and measures 25cm or 9.84" tall. Allean's "Real Red" version decks her out in all red garments and her blonde hair has turned into the color of bubblegum. Allean's clothing may be doffed to reveal her bosom. Preorders are welcome to ship in September 2009.

BlazBlue Regular Edition - Expected Later Today

NCS Product Synopsis
«©NCSX» The young'uns of today got it good. They don't know how good they got it. Back when we was kids, we had to walk 10 miles to school, eat hamburgers on plain Wonder Bread, rewind video tapes, and play Street Fighter II on a 16-bit Super Famicom. That was the Dark Ages when Japanese import games cost $160. Each.

Yep, the kids of today got it good. So good that they get to play arcade perfect conversions like BlazBlue for the measly fee of $60. The BlazBlue Taito Type X2 arcade kit was tempting when it dropped to US$2000 but $60? That's like manna from heaven. Don't even get me started on the home conversion perfection that is Death Smiles.

NCS originally stocked the first print limited edition of BlazBlue earlier this month but the regular edition (sans bonuses) has shipped from the publisher and is expected later this afternoon. New orders are welcome.
